Fungal rashes are more common in areas of moisture and friction such as between the backside folds, armpits,groin.
The canesten would help but in the initial stages (first 2 to 3 days), you may want to combine it with a steroid cream. This would reduce the inflammation and also help reduce the itching associated with it. An example is hydrocortisone
If you have access to an anti fungal powder to use instead of canesten this would be even better because this would help to keep the area dry. Moisture can sometimes delay healing.
examples are zeasorb,lotrimin, XXXXXXX go (combination of steroid, antifungal and barrier protection to protect against additional moisture)
If this is not possible , then the canesten can be used.
It can take up to 2 weeks in some cases for fungal rashes to resolve completely.
