Question: Hallo Dr... I am xxxxxx, 32 yr old and a scientist by profession. I have problems with moderate non-alcoholic fatty liver, chronic gas and related things... However, I am suffering from shortness of breath for last one and half week. It is not for all the day long or continuous. It is more likely for 1 hr and then gone. It’s not acute and I am feeling problem only during walk or something within that duration. But, even sitting become a bit uncomfortable during that time. When I have started to think about this, it seems to me that I should go for a chest X ray as I was a smoker (quit 4 months ego). Today I got the X ray result and it says I have pneumonitic changes in left lower zone of lungs. I am tensed. I did a chest x ray about 2 yrs ego. And the report was normal then. I have checked these two x ray slides and I saw everything is similar. But, I am no doctor. So, I am in a mess now. Should I need to be worried and need medicine? Or the report is wrong... is my problem is from gas??? I want to send you the photos of both the x ray slides (2 yr difference)... Please help me... Best...

Brief Answer:
Get a CT scan chest done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Shoving,

Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

Do you have any other symtoms beside shortness of breath like fever, cough, chest pain etc. If still in doubt, you can get a CT Scan of chest done which will help in diagnosis. You may also get a complete blood count done. I suggest you consult a physician or a pulmonologist who can examine you and see the chest x-ray and order a CT scan as well as advise you on treatment. You may upload your chest x-ray report so that I can have a look at it.

Wishing you the best.
