Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat

Question: Hello, I have had this awful sore throat for over a week at least. It has not gone away and it's only controllable at home. The minute I speak a lot it hurts and drys a ton. I drink tons and tons of water each day and have tried gargling salt water. I have had a few strep throats In a year like 3. It's very swollen, gets dry fast, and it's only my throat. I would like to include pictures of it, just to see if it's possible you see anything. I do want to note I also vape everyday and quite a bit. It's the lowest nicotine though. Thank you.

Thank you for query.
I understand your concern. You are suffering from Upper respiratory tract infection.
Avoid using your cape, because it can worsen your sore throat.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend Tab.Roxithromycin 150mg twice daily after food for 4 days, SALT WATER or BETADINE gargles twice to thrice daily. These medications can be available only with doctor's prescription. Kindly meet your local doctor for the same.

It is an infection, but can not be sure if strep.

Thank you for the follow up query.

Strep throat is one of the types of throat infections, not all infections of the throat are caused by streptococcus, to be absolutely sure if it is streptococcus causing the throat infection, you would need to get a throat swab gram staining and culture done.

You can get the medications I advise with doctor's prescription. Avoid vape and cold beverages. Continue Betadine & salt water gargle twice daily.
