Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain Under Left Breast Caused Due To Damaged Ribs
Question: I fell and damaged ribs. Went to doctor after 4 days to check. She had X-ray taken, nothing cracked. So I've been doing rest, ice and heat in the morning. My pain isn't lessoning. It hurts to bend over to pick up something but the worst pain is when I lie down. It so bad it makes me scream. I am obese, 270 on a 5-4 frame. And large breast. The pain starts under left breast. Could the X-ray not have shown all that is wrong? Also, when I deep breath I feel rumbling on exhale that wasn't there earlier. Any thoughts!

I am so sorry to hear about this fall and the pain. A fracture is one of the easiest to be picked on an X-ray. It is very unlikely that this was missed. I strongly believe there is no fracture of concern at this time.
The major problem is that Tylenol is not powerful enough to control your pain and allow for healing. I will suggest you talk to your doctors and get more potent pain medications like codeine, tramadol, etc. for this pain. This way, all the pain would be controlled while healing sets in.
Increased pains with breathing movements and chest movements are normal and expected. What matters most now is to get a good pain control.
