Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain That Radiates To Tooth And Jaw

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Aug 2016
Question: Hello, I am having severe pain radiating from my back molar and into my jaw. My wisdom teeth have been removed years ago, so know this is not the source of my pain. My tooth feels fine to touch and brush; however I feel immense pain in my jaw at all times and I have an extremely sore throat that hurts when I swallow. I also have swollen lymph nodes in my neck on the right side underneath my jaw/tooth pain. I do not have a fever and I am so confused as to what this could be.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Tooth decay, X-ray, medication, treatment as per diagnosis..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain originating from molar tooth that is radiating to Jaw seems to be due to deep decay in your molar tooth and swollen lymph nodes and sore throat can be due to infection only..

But to confirm the exact cause a clinical examination of the tooth as well as an x ray is must..

If there is decay in tooth confirmed as the diagnosis then Root Canal treatment followed by antibiotics and painkillers will relieve..

As of now take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and do cool compresses over the swollen lymph nodes and cheek..
Avoid chewing from painful side and also take a soft diet..
Do warm saline gargles..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
