Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concern.
First of all, I would want to ask a few questions like whether there is any history of trauma to hand, whether you are diabetic or hypertensive, whether you had similar pain or pain in other joints before, whether the pain is more in the morning, whether there is associated tingling or numbness.
In general, pain in hand or fingers can be due to many causes like traumatic, inflammatory like various kinds of arthritis, infective, or might be metabolic due to deficiency of various minerals or vitamins. Diabetes is an important cause of peripheral neuropathy. Also, some vascular disorders can present with peripheral distribution of pain. But these are rare causes.
Hence, if such a patient comes to me, I advise the following-

Xray of hand AP and Oblique view if there is history of trauma to rule out bony injury.
Blood for fasting/post prandial blood sugar, uric acid, calcium, vit D3, RA factor and complete hemogram.
Active finger, wrist movements.
Painkillers like aceclofenac-thiocolchicoside combination. These act very well in muscle sprains also. Alongwith, an antacid or pantoprazole will be helpful to prevent gastric complication.
Avoid heavy weight lifting or excessive use of the affected hand.

You can consult your treating or family doctor about it and get the required prescription for the drugs.
Get back to me with the reports or for any query.

Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
Regards
