Question: Yes. My husband is a type 2 diabetic, taking pills and insulin.Suffers from dabilliting pain in his right thigh, and both knees which he's taking pain pills for. About 10 years he underwent a prostrate(nick name rotarooter)procedure, which went well. Now for almost 3 years he's been suffering from irratations and blisters on his penis caused by the acidity of his urine, and open sores in his groin area with (as my husband describes it)a clear kyro syrup secretion. The doctors said its part of his diabetic illness. For years he was taking only diabetic pills. The doctors said his blood sugar is still to high around 225 ,they said should be around 130.Now you need to know when his numbers are high he feels normal, energetic a can do things,he's not sleeping all day,no energy. He does nap some times because of his pain medicine. So a year ago they put him on insulin,it's been down hill since,I HATE IT!They put him on it to lower his blood sugar ,possibly to cure his penis and groin .For a year now everything is terrible. His blood sugar is everywhere its not sabillizing. When his sugar count is where they what him to be,he's useless. He's literely in bed all day,no energy or strength. Also for 5 months he didnt know he had walking pnomounia,I believe hes healed. Now for months hes body thermostat is broken. He's freezing 24/7,he was at the doctors a few weeks ago said he was 96.My husband couldn't remember if that was his norm or not.But he's not just freezing, lately bouts of freezing shakes he's an icecle.I Have to crawl in bed with him with tons of coats, blankets, and my body heat to stablilze him.It takes about half a hour to stop the shaking. And on top of that he's going pee alot, and no apetite. Please Help----------Thank You----(p.s. he's 69 years old) Rose

Brief Answer:
Possible hypothermia.Need a further work up

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

I apologize for the delayed response owing to my work schedule.

I worked through your query and lab reports in detail.

His current temperature variations could possibly suggest a new ongoing septic infection.

It's very impressive that he gets an early ultrasound of the kidneys followed by urine culture and sensitivity plus blood sugar estimation.

Hypothemia need to be rulef out by measuring the rectal temperature.

Further management if any is largely based on test results.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you
