Brief Answer:
Muscle spasm due to bad posture

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Thanks for posting your query in HealthcareMagic,

I have gone through your query and it seems to look like muscle spasm over the left side of neck, due to bad posture.
I would suggest you to
- take T. ZERODOL-P twice daily for 2 days.
-Also do warm compresses over the area affected.
-Avoid tall pillows, preferably avoid pillows for 2-3 days.

It is common to experience pains due to prolonged hours of sitting. If it continues in the future, it would be worthwhile to get an Xray cervical spine done so as to look for any internal causes. In that case, it would be for your best to wear a cervical collar while working.

I hope this helps,

Please feel free to discuss further or else kindly close the query and share your positive feedback.

Brief Answer:
Explained below..

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Thanks for writing back,

Regarding cervical pain, I would brief you on the symptoms and the condition:
Any damage to the cervical discs either due to internal pathology or due to external causes can cause either spondylitis or spondylosis.

In spondylitis- inflammation is seen over the joints or vetebrae affected.

In spondylosis- It is an age related wear and tear of the joints and vertebrae in the spine, due to many factors. It usually presents as long lasting stiffness of the neck, radiation of pain to the shoulders, tingling or numbness in the fingers or arms, sharp shooting pain on movement to certain angles in later stages.

Taking into consideration of your age and your work environment, you may have chances to develop this condition in the future.

I would recommend you to make the following changes:

- take intervals while sitting in front of the computer every 30-45 mins, so that the muscles may not go into spasm due to overuse.

- get frequent neck and back massages done.

- applying warm compresses every alternate days, so as to relieve underlying inflammation.

- you may also consider getting orthopedic mattresses, so as to prevent any future spine related issues.

- Also like I said before, you may consider to get cervical collars while working, which is to worn for short duration.

If your symptoms are too frequent and worsening, it would best to get a scan done.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to discuss further,

Regards

Thanks again Dr.
I have few questions in my mind, can you please clarify.
Which painkiller is best in my case.
Zerodol P/Combiflam/Reactin 100SR.
Please don't mind if this is not logical. I just wanted to understand the actual usage and effectiveness of different salts used for painkiller.

Thanks,

Kindly see below,

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Thanks for the follow up,

It is absolutely fine to ask any doubts when related to the treatment and the drugs involved. I will try to explain you in the best way I can.

Reactin SR- contains diclofenac, which is given to reduce pain when involved with musculoskeletal system. But since it is mentioned ass "SR", the effect of the drug will be maintained over longer periods.

Combiflam- contains Ibuprofen and paracetamol. Ibuprofen is used to treat pain and fever. Paracetamol also has similar properties, and hence is this is given when patient complains of moderate to severe pain.

Zerodol P- contains Paracetamol and diclofenac. Like I said before, diclofenac is given when pain is involved in skeletal and muscular system. Paracetamol gives the additional benefit of reducing pain.

The effect of the drug to some extent also depends on the person.

In my practise, I tend to prefer T. ZERODOL p for all muscle and bone related pains and spasms.

I hope I have answered to your query,

Please feel free to discuss further or else kindly close and share your positive feedback,

Kind regards.

Brief Answer:
Aceclofenac belongs to same group as diclo

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Thanks for the follow up,

I was trying my best to explain you in simple terms. To be more precise, yes, it contains aceclofenac and paracetamol.

Aceclofenac belongs to the same class as diclofenac, but with a better efficacy for many patients with orthopedic issues. It has been reported to demonstrate significant pain relief than diclofenac. But the properties and mode of action are all the same.

I hope I have cleared your doubts,
