Question: Hello,
I just had an endoscopy done two days ago and ever since then ive had a pulsing pain around where my esophagus meets my stomach. Right under the chest bone area. The pain isnt constant, it comes and goes especially when i swallow or eat food. Is this a normal side effect or should i contact my doctor? Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking.

You have done upper endoscopy two days ago and you are feeling pulsing pain around the end of esophagus.
To my opinion there is nothing to be worried. It may be related with minimal damage of lower esophagus from the scope.
This part of esophagus is more tight than the others due to the sphincter and this is why it can be damaged more easy due to scope.
It will pass after a couple of days.
Hope it was helpful to you.
