Brief Answer:
Cervical spondylosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

You could be having Cervical spondylosis which can cause muscle spasm of the muscles on the side of your spine behind your neck. There may be a pinched nerve.

Avoid bending neck forward or lifting weights. Apply hot packs to the painful regions. Follow proper ergonomics at work. Avoid using thick pillow while sleeping on bed. Take Tablet Diclofenac and Thicolchicoside combination twice a day for 5 days after meals and Tablet Ranitidine 150mg twice a day for 5 days before meals. This is a combination pain killer and muscle relaxant that will help you immensely.

If you have radiating pain to your shoulders and arms with tingling or numbness, it is best to get an MRI scan after getting an Xray of the Cervical spine.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Thank you for your reply Dr. How would you suggest I get the meds to see if they have any efficacy against this condition?

Should I rely on you for prescriptions that you have recommended?
