Brief Answer:
Tinea cruris most probably

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM...

I read history and saw the photos. After that could conclude that most probably you may be suffering from skin disease called tinea cruris. It is a fungal infection occurring in groin and pubic areas around genital. It is caused by fungus called dermatophytes. You may be having itching off and on. The skin lesions may be erythematous and pigmented rough patches or plaques with elevated border in ring shape. Perspiration, wetness, excessive bathing, soap, fitting clothes...etc might exacerbate the disease.

You consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis. However I would suggest as follow...

- anti fungal like tab ketoconazole 200 mg once a day or cap itraconazole 100 mg once a day for two weeks
- anti histaminics like levocetirizine 5 mg once a day or desloratidine 5 mg once a day till itch is relieved
- application of anti fungal cream like clotrimazole or sertaconazole or bifonazole cream
- avoid soap bath, dettol liq may be used for bath..few drops in bucket.
- keep the area dry.

I hope this would help you..

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Tinea cruris

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There is no problem taking itraconazole and levocetirizine taking at a time. There are no reports of interaction between itraconazole and levocetirizine until now. So, you can take both at a time.

Thanks..
