Question: i am losing hair like anything.. it is hard.. i have been changing oils and shampoos.. but to no avail.. can you please suggest something..??

Hair loss can be due to reasons and have many causes according to XXXXXXX accedemy of dermatology 100 strands of hair per day is normal to lose and can increase upto 250/ day on washing. Which is normal. There is hereditary condition which affects many people and its cause of 50% of the cases of hair loss, mostly it occurs in 50 -60 yrs age but can occur at any age family history is important in thats regard and its difficult to treat then. Other medical conditions which are responsilbe for hair loss are thyroid harmones imbalances so TFTs should be done apart form it anemias , polycystic ovarian syndrome and skin condition like sebboric dermatitis and psoriasis are also related to hair loss. Hormonal profile and hb should be done.
Androgenic hair loss which is male pattern hair loss can occur due to increase blood testosterone level harmonal profile can clear it out. seborrhoeic dermatitis is a clinical diagnosis. Hair loss due to it is controlled with medicated shampoos etc. Stress related alopecia can also occur. Frequent hair styles and treaments can also damage yout hair and result in hair loss. Scalp infection like ring worm infection can also cause it. Certain medication and radiotherapy can also cause it.
Treatment is dependent on the cause so the cause needs to be determined before any treatment is initiated.
