Question: Extreme hair loss in arm pits, hair became gummy balls as if I got syrup on the hair. Hair on legs, arms, extreme thinning. About five week change, changes for me include, 4 days a week of swimming in YMCA pool about 2,200 yards in hour work out. Started carb free diet last four weeks as well. I have lost 17 pounds I am currently 5' 8" 215 lbs I have been showering 99% of the time at y w their gel body soap. Also might note I am bald however hair line ears to top of sides of head has not changed also normal facial growth.

These hair changes could possibly represent changes secondary to reaction to water in the swimming pool.

Rest of the dietary parameters are within the normal limits.

These changes are reversible in most cases with spontaneous improvement.

But in case if the hair changes persist, then it's important not get into swimming with the same water.

Remaining medications cardiac and vitamin related can be continued.
