Suggest Treatment For Severe Gastritis
Question: Gastritis is killing me. Im eating tums like candy and on prilosec. What else can i do?

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms of gastritis that you have reported. For how long have you had these symptoms and how much dose of each medication(tums and Prilosec) are you taking?
These are effective medications for gastritis and if they fail to resolve your symptoms, then it may be something else. I will rather advice that consider going in for evaluation to make sure we are talking and treating the right disease. Looking directly into the stomach(endoscopy) would help confirm this diagnosis or give reasons to look beyond the stomach for possible causes and treatment. Also, if you do take NSAIDs, please stop them right away and talk to your doctor.

If the pains are still that severe despite taking these medications for the past 3days, then you should consider going in for evaluation. I will also recommend that you double the dose of Prilosec to 40mg daily.

Its better than it was the first day, but it still hurts. The first day I was doubled over in intense pain. Is there anything i can eat that will help?
