Suggest Treatment For Severe Fever In A Child

Question: My Kid is 9 Moths Old.
He is having fever from day before yesterday. Temperature recording as follows
4-Sep-16 - 06:30 PM - 100.8 - Fevago 1.2ml Given
4-Sep-16 - 10:00 PM - 98.7
5-Sep-16 - 06:30 AM - 99.4
5-Sep-16 - 08:00 AM - 100.2 - Fevago 1 ml
5-Sep-16 - 10:00 AM - 98.4
5-Sep-16 - 12:30 PM - 98.5
5-Sep-16 - 04:30 PM - 99.2
6-Sep-16 - 06:30 AM - 98.5
6-Sep-16 - 12:30 PM - 98.6
6-Sep-16 - 05:30 PM - 99.1


He was little cranky yesterday. But he is active from Today Morning.
But the temperature is raising in the evening little bit higher. Do we need to worry about it or is it normal?

I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections. Irrespective of use of antibiotics, it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. Since your child is otherwise active and playful, I would not be concerned with the intermittent rise of temperature.

If your child has fever with temperature more than 100°F, you need to give fevago (paracetamol) to bring down. Also use tepid sponging.

Giving steam inhalation to your child helps in reducing the congestion. Please be patient, it should spontaneously resolve in a few days.
