Suggest Treatment For Severe Eye Pain

Question: I had an eye pain or not comfortable while viewing computer monitor. So i consulted an opthalmologist. Doctor advised to have corneal topography since my cylinderical numbers are high.report shows i have keratoconos. May i know the treatment fot this

As per your query,

Keratoconus treatment depends on intensity of your symptoms. If they are mild, your vision can be corrected with eyeglasses. However special hard contact lenses to help keep vision in proper focus if intesity of symptoms are more.
If stll not relieved surgical options are there like-

Intacs-Intacs help flatten the curve of your cornea to improve vision.

Collagen cross-linking-a special UV light is used and eye drops are used to strengthen the cornea. Doing this helps to flatten or stiffen your cornea, keeping it from bulging further.

Final option for refractory cases-
Corneal transplant. When symptoms are severe, your ophthalmologist may suggest a corneal transplant. Your ophthalmologist replaces all or part of your diseased cornea with healthy donor cornea tissue.

High degree of astigmatism is there.

I don't think glasses will be very helpful.
I would suggest you to go for intacts surgery.It's an easy surgery done as day care procedure with excellent results.

Firstly before proceeding for surgery try Hard lenses for 2 weeks.Surgery should always be the last resort treatment.So why not to give it a try.

However if failed-
Intac should be the initial approach as this is just a day care procedure and often tolerated very well by patients.

For cost analysis please mention the state you are in.
Are you covered by insurance?
Hospital is government aided or private?

I have been wearing spectacles from last 17 years.But these days when I work infront of computer for long time,i felt pain.that is the reason why I went to consult a doctor.
Hard lenses means spectacles or contact lens?
How is Collagen cross-linking treatment?Intac and Collagen cross-linking have same results?
I am based in XXXXXXX NCR for the cost advise. I have corporate insurance. Is these treatment covered by insurance?
Planning to do at a private hospital. Also I am planning to do the treatment in XXXXXXX my hometown.Please advise

Go to Narain Naitralaya.
If you have options get it done in south XXXXXXX and not in North.
Hard lenses means spectacles.

Collagen cross linking is superior to the former treatment.However it requires a dediacted opthalmologist performing it frequently.

Cross linking should cost you around 1lakh.
Intac would be around 50k.
However south XXXXXXX is much cheaper and good as compared to New XXXXXXX and work is ethically done.
