Brief Answer:
ear ache likely to be due to be due to Eustachian tube block

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr XXXX

Upper respiratory tract infection in children is usually associated with Eustachian tube (tube joining the nose cavity with middle ear cavity , blockade leads to negative pressure in middle ear causing pain) block.

If there is no associated redness over ear and no discharge from ear then there is no cause for concern

I would suggest you the following

1. Decongestant nasal drops like Nasivion Pediatric Nasal drops 2 drops in each nose twice a day and only for 2 days will be helpful

2. Chewing movements like chewing cough lozenges will be helpful

3. Steam inhalation : Preferably using electronic steamer. Maintain safe distance from baby. Use it for 5 minutes thrice a day

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
