Gastroenteritis is usually caused due to infection.It can be bacterial or viral in origin.Infection causes depletion of G.I.T flora.Our gut consists of its own flora of micro oraganism ehich are responsible for proper digestion of food,Usually the toxins released by infectitious agents depletes the flora and hence causing problems with digestion.I would suggest you to go for few investigations like stool routine and microscopy.Ask your gastroentrologist to prescribe you with probiotic medications for few days.This will help restoring the flora again.An antiemetic could also be prescibed by him for some days.
For rashes get your platelet levels checked if they are normal it could be likely because of gastric problems.
Apart from that some general measures to be followed are-
Take lots of fibres in diet.
Include lots of vegetables and fruits in your diet like orange peer which are high in fibres.
Take lots of juices in your diet.
