Question: I have been feeling like I need a bowel movement for about one week. But I do not have to go...it just feels as if I do. 2 weeks before, my stomach was hurting and I had diarrhea. I am 20 years old. I have a sensitive stomach..why am I having pressure in my rectum or feeling like I have to poop?

Brief Answer:
Can be irritable bowel syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, and age of onset, and altrnating gastric habbits, it's most likely irritable bowel syndrome and it needs to be evaluated by a gastroentrologist.

Meanwhile for symptomatic relief motility agents like domperidone or mebeverine can be used, and if constipation of difficult defecation troubles you, you can use stool softeners like lactulose orally.

For long run management, rifixamin or itapride for few weeks along with serotonin re uptake inhibitors like duloxetine or fluoxetine may be needed. These all medications needs a specialist review and after ruling out other causes like infective or drug induced and after basic labs like stool analysis and complete blood counts etc and parameters of malabsorption.

Using ispaghol Husk and adding fibre rich diets may benefit too. Avoid taking too heavy or greasy meals frequently. Use more fluids and water than usual to add some liquid content into stool to facilitate it's motility.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
