Brief Answer:
different possible causes

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is most likely a viral illness that is causing your symptoms. This is the most common reason for an acute cough.
Viral infections can cause fever and the persistent coughing would cause pain due to reversible injury to the muscles and other soft tissue in the area.

The excess burping may be related to the viral infection of the respiratory tract or may be due to reflux (if you have a previous history of reflux ) or to the use of certain foods (foods associated with excess gas production).

If the gastrointestinal tract is inflamed then bleeding can occur but if it recurs or worsens then you need to see your doctor for an assessment. Depending on the extent of the bleeding, a scope to take a look may be needed.

A bad episode of coughing can also cause vomiting to occur

Though you are having pain, you would not be able to use an NSAID (ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam, voltaren) because of the bleeding. These can potentially worsen it.

If you are staying at home for now: (1) hold off all solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no vomiting

When this time frame occurs, you should start with small amounts of dry food first

2)cough suppressant , preferably along with anti histamine/decongestant combination

(3)medication such as pepto bismol, pepcid or zantac can be used to help reduce the burping and vomiting.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
