Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough
Question: I'm checking my meds because I have a cough that will not go away. Cough spasms many times during the day and night. I've seen my primary care doc many times about this. I've talked to a pulmunologist. No one has any answers and I'm at my wits' end. They call it airway irritation syndrome. But it just doesn't go away. In the alert messages I see something I can't identify. What is carpopedal spasm? But more importantly, what suggestions do you have to make my cough go away? Thank you.
I should have added that the cough is in my throat, not my chest. The docs say my chest is clear. I'm an ex-smoker (quit when I was 40) and have been checked, negatively, for TB and lung cancer.

I had a CT scan. Though not specifically for the chest, it showed that I have a gallstone. This has been asymptomatic (unless this cough is somehow related).
Past chest X-rays have never shown any problem.
I don't know whether I've had an echocardiography. I'll check on that.

1. test a CT CHEST
2. test an echocardiography.
If both turn out normal this may be associated with GERD.
So you will need to take Tab Neksium 40 mg twice a day and Syr Sucralfate 2tsf 4 times a day.
This may help.
