Question: I had ambulatory surgery on Friday removal of lipoma on upper back. I went into surgery with cold like symptoms already but they proceeded since I had no fever. After surgery on Saturday cough got worst and by Sunday I was coughing yellowish plemgh. I went to urgent care on sunday and told I had bronchitis and given zpack I'm still on. My concern is a wheezing sound I can hear myself when I exhale. Saw my doctor today who listened to my lungs and said she hears no wheezing but yet I hear it myself and it's disturbing

Brief Answer:
You will need inhaled treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
BWheezing and coughing are the common symptoms if bronchitis.
And best treatment for bronchitis is inhaled treatment. Since you are not taking inhaled treatment, you are not improving.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. PFT (pulmonary function test).
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
You will mostly improve with inhaled bronchodilator (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone).
Please let me know
1. Do you smoke?

I don't have chest pain while coughing and I recently took allergy tests and only came back positive for some kind of mites forgot name they say can live in mattress.I have gerd I suffer from and sometimes post nasal drip and two months back a sinus infection to which I was also given a zpack which helped
