Brief Answer:
Some practical advises to treat chronic constipation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

That has happened because your bowel has been used with the laxatives and is lazy to move by itself so you can have a normal bowel movement.

Some practical advises I can give are these:
- Drink a lot of fluids.
- Have a diet with fruits and vegetables. You can also add Psyllium (simple fiber) to your diet by purchasing that at a local pharmacy.
- Try to defecate after meals, thereby taking advantage of normal postprandial increases in colonic motility especially in the morning when the movement of the bowel is higher.
- Try to taper the use of Laxatives. Use them only when you really think that you have to use it, with the aim to stop one day using them at all.

I hope this is helpful. I know this is not easy and will need time, but it can be done.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
