Suggest Treatment For Severe Chills And High Blood Pressure

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Dec 2015
Question: My husband has been sick for three days. He has a fever ranging from 100.3 to 103.6. There seems to be no pattern. He has vomited and has sever chills to the point he can,t hold a glass due to the shaking. He is diabetic on pills and a low dose insulin once daily. He also has high blood pressure. When he seems to start feeling better he will exert a small amount of energy (taking a shower) and the symptoms return. I have been giving him 500mg tylenol every 4 hours. He refuses to go to the emergency room.

Brief answer....must go to ER
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Your husband definitely needs to go to ER because unless and until,we are able  to establish a proper diagnosis and cause of his fever,a proper treatment is not possible. Being a diabetic there are lots of chances that he might be having some infection somewhere. Severe chills could be due to malaria or dengue also.
He would need intravenous fluids also because of possible dehydration due to less intake and high fever.
All these things can be done only if the patient is in house.
Please reason out with him and do take him to hospital.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me or any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
