Brief Answer:
Muscular spasm due to bad posture or dorsal spondylosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon

You have severe pain posteriorly in your rib cage on right side which increases on taking deep breath.

Since you have no history of injury and are normal and active otherwise I would think about the pain due to a muscular spasm may be due to a bad posture while sleeping or it could be due to dorsal spine spondylosis.

Other possibility is lung infection, but lack of fever goes against it.

I suggest take pain killers, muscle relaxants and hot fomentation for few days and if there is no relief then get an X ray of the area.

Thanks for the question. Please feel free to ask any further question.

I don't have bad posture, have a good mattress and what is spine spondylosis? is that a chronic condition or does it go away/

I don't have poor posture and have good mattress, and what is spine spondylosis? is it chronic?

also, chiropractor said a rib was out of place. I know they have a different approach and philosophy but is that possible without an injury?
also , the chiropractor said a rib was out of place. how is that possible without an injury?

Brief Answer:
Could be due to muscular spasm.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon
Bad posture does not mean that you have bad posture habitually, It means that while sleeping or other activities , you have been in a different position evoking muscular spasm in back.
Dorsal spine spondylosis is a degenerative process in the spine same as you have in the neck and lower back.
In medical terms rib out of place is either due to fracture of ribs or severe muscular spasm . Muscular spasm will bring the ribs together and they may appear to be out of place.
I hope I have answered your question. Please feel free to ask any further question.

ok thank you, that was very clarifying, now, is the spondylosis same as arthritis? and the sleep posture situation is entirely possible, even probable. so how do I get muscle relaxers or pain medication ? I paid for this service to not have to go to the dr. or is that beyond your realm, also, again is the spondylosis chronic or does it just flare up occasionally?

Brief Answer:
Spondylosis is equivalent tp spinal arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Spondylosis is equivalent to spinal arthritis which is chronic in nature .
I cannot ge you any meicines on this platform, I can only suggest the medicines you may take .
Nothing can equal a doctor's examination and then arriving at a diagnosis- only symptoms are never adequate to arrive at a diagnosis.
