Suggest Treatment For Severe Allergy During Summer Season

Question: My allergies to the southwest desert after 47 yrs. have become severe. My landlord knows this but refuses to put in a heat pump that puts out cool air during the hot/humid months in XXXXXXX Instead he put in a temporary standing cooler/opened my sliding window/put up a piece of thin cardboard with a hole in it to vent it to the outside. My allergies are still severe since this was done. Can allergens seep through cardboard and/or between the open sliding window and the stable window? A friend says there's no way allergens can come inside by this method. What do you say??

No allergens can not pass through hard cardboard.

I can understand your concern.
Hard cardboard can not pass air. And if air can not pass than allergens will definitely not pass through cardboard.
So no need to worry for this.
Just make sure that cardboard is of proper fitting. Otherwise air and thus allergens can pass through side leaks.
So keep this in mind.
Are you not taking any drugs for allergy?
