Brief Answer:
Should be removed

Detailed Answer:
hi and welcome.
This is sebaceous cyst or atheroma and it should be removed before it grows more. You need to see urologis for it and it can be done under local anesthesia. Wish you good health.Regards

Dear Dr. Romic,

I spoke to the nurse practitioner in my doctor's office (PCP, internal medicine). The doctor will be back on Monday. But the nurse practitioner said that I should be referred to a dermatologist, not a urologist. What do you make of that?

Brief Answer:
No

Detailed Answer:
hi.
dermatologist should be consulted if there is suspected sexually transmitted disease or dermatosis. I don't think this is something like this and in most countries, dermatologists don't perform excision of scrotal lesions.
