Brief Answer:
Seroflo useful if he has pulmonary wheeze with cough

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns but don't worry. Seroflo contains fluticasone (steroid) and salmeterol ( B2 agonist). They are useful in cases of pulmonary wheeze associated cough. But not recommended for running nose and dry cough which are usually self limiting and viral in origin.
Antihistamine such as Chlorpheniramine or fexofenadine are better than Seroflo in that case.

So, I would recommend you to give your child Chlorpheniramine or fexofenadine for relief from running nose and cough. Avoid Seroflo if there is no pulmonary wheeze and coughs are not recurrent.

Take care

Brief Answer:
Its not a healthy practice

Detailed Answer:
Hi

It doesn't have any significant side effects but it's not a healthy practice because it contains steroids. In case he develops any breathing difficulty, then start him only on B2 agonist such as Salbutamol or Levosalbutamol puffs before such competitions.

Hopefully this will help you.
Take care
