Question: Thanks for checking in with me. I have been fine! I did notice that I have had the slightest slightest ringing in my ear(s). Kind of like the sound of an old tv warming up (white noise?) I try to clear my ears but it doesnt help much. Its very light and off and on. It is mainly annoying... Is there any recommendations? It seems to be on my left if I had to guess. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Ear wax or Eustachian tube catarrh...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back. I would be glad, if I was able to convince you in my previous response.

Tinnitus or ringing in the ear is a normal sound emitted by sensitive inner ear nerves and the brain. Every human being gets tinnitus and usually goes unnoticed because of the background noise. In the normal circumstances it can be noticed by blocking the ears or staying in a calm room.

Tinnitus gets aggravated in various conditions, to name a few:
1. Eustachian tube (the tube connecting nose and the ear) block or dysfunction
2. Middle ear effusion
3. Ear wax
4. Presence of aneurysm in the middle ear
5. Sensorineural hearing loss, etc.

In your case, it is a mild unilateral tinnitus which could be related to the presence of ear wax or Eustachian tube catarrh. This has to be confirmed after a thorough examination of the ear and the nose. If the former causes are ruled out, then you will require further audiological investigations to identify the actual cause.

Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.
