Question: We just noticed during bathing that our baby (4 month old) has both lower ribs extended by about 1 cm ,with the left one more than the right

Thanks for writing to us.
Based om your description it could be what is called as rosary which can happen in vitamin d deficiency.
It could also be just normal anatomical variations which keep changing as your baby grows.
Do send some pictures if you have taken.
I would suggest you
1. Get vitamin d levels tested. If low better to treat with vitamin d.
2. Even if levels are normal start maintenance dose of 400 units vitamin d drops daily till one year.
Don't worry.
It is reversible and is easily treated.
