Suggest Treatment For Retinal Bleeds

Question: I have had retinal bleeds in both eyes.,I asked if they are associated with AIR pressures. You said there is no medical evidence of any such association. As a precaution I take Diamox 20 mins before take off.
You said 16/18 should be my eye pressure but doctors say 18/20 in my case is fine as it varies down to 16. I have a regime of Xalacom and Alphagan combo which contains Timolol. They say no need as you had advised.

I take ACCENTRIX TO PREVENT BLEEDS EVERY 4/6 weeks. Is that only solution to bleeds?

Brief Answer: XXXXXXX bleed has other reason, not.

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Good to have you back with us.
You have two different aspects. One is pressure and second is retinal bleed.
I will still recommended the target pressure of 16 in spite of the fact that your ophthalmologist is better placed as he has examined you fully and I have selective data..There can be variations in pressure and those fluctuations should be within permissible limits not to cause damage to optic nerve.
Retinal bleed is XXXXXXX fragility of blood vessels. As I said earlier their association with flying may be coincidence. For this you have to remain under guidance of your retina specialist.I hope you have had a FFA done that is a angiography of retina.
Take care of your general health and you will be fine.
Any further query please do get back to me.
