Suggest Treatment For Redness Of The Scrotum While On Nystatin And Fluconazole

default
Posted on Sat, 23 Jul 2016
Question: Have had red scrotum for about 2 weeks. First dr prescribed steriod . Now have been on Nystatin and Fluconazole for 5 days , no better.
Decided to try pure coconut oil today just as test. While doing this I noticed that entire scrotum returned to normal color for few seconds Accept large round area the had a white pimple that all along has been aggravating. The dr paid no attention to it when he inspected me.

This pimple if infected , could be causing whole scrotum to turn red ??

It is good sized.. I can upload image.

Also , if in your opinion this is not the issue. Is it possible this could be STD, chlymidia or herpes?

Brief Answer:
Red scrotum syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern. I have also reviewed the images.

I would like to keep a possibility of red scrotum syndrome which can develop after use of potent topical steroid creams on delicate skin of scrotum and is often accompanied by sensations of burning, itching. I suggest you to avoid topical steroids on scrotum. It can also be idiopathic and topical steroid creams seem to make it worse.
This doesnt seem to be a fungal infection either.
The bump/ pimple is most likely a small sebaceous cyst and I dont think it is the cause for redness of scrotum.
The rash and pimple does'nt look like an STD either. STDs like genital herpes usually presents with painful genital sores; Chlamydia with burning on passing urine and urethral discharge.
This seem like a red scrotum syndrome due to use of topical steroids. I suggest you to just use a soothing moisturizing lotion

Thank You , one last question to hopefully put my STD fears to rest as I can't sleep or eat... I uploaded photo showing some drops (discharge??) that dribbles out after I urinate..

I tested negative for all stds 2 weeks after my sexual encounter .

I have not ejaculated for over a week.

Is this chlymidia?

Can barely stretch, this is probably longest I have done

It looks like urine and does not smell

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Urethral discharge could be due to either urethritis or prostatitis.

I would suggest a urinalysis.

Was the sexual contact 2 weeks ago, protected? Do you have any symptoms like burning sensation on passing urine?

Sexual relation was almost 5 weeks ago. Was protected but I am worried when I took condom off I didn't clean up and just put pants on. So did possibly some of her fluids on my legs or scrotum or some where else rub on my underwear then get in my ueretha?

No burning when pee.
Left testicle is sore off and on
Only discharge is what is in photo.

I actually did test with water droplet from sink and it stretched exactly like this photo. So thinking now probably not std discharge.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be an STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

If it was a pritected sexual encounter then i dont think you could possibly have chlamydia. Certainly not indirectly through contaminated underwear post sex.
So i think you can dispel any fear of chlamydia.
