Suggest Treatment For Red Spots On Body

Posted on Mon, 11 Jan 2016
Question: My 18 year old son is covered in red spots, we went to e Doctor about 5 weeks ago, they said it was chicken pox, but because he was vaccinated would be a mild case. 5 weeks later the spots have not gone away. I do not think its chicken pox. Also, he says he breaks out in more spots when he gets excited. Spots do not itch at this point, but did severely in he beginning. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, no other symptoms.

Brief Answer:
Don't think it is chicken pox, upload pictures

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at Healthcaremagic
I don't think it is chicken pox as it should heal within 3-4 weeks and is characterised by tiny blisters and crusted bumps.
I would recommend you to upload the pictures of the red spots so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition and can guide you accordingly.

Brief Answer:
Either psoriasis or discoid eczema

Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed all the attached photographs.
I can see red spots covered with white scales.
There are 2 possibilities:
Either psoriasis or discoid eczema.
You need to get them examined clinically in person by a doctor to confirm the diagnosis.
Meanwhile in either of the condition keep the body moisturised by applying a good quality moisturising cream containing white soft paraffin.
