Posted on Sat, 22 Apr 2017
Question: I just found a red swollen 'line' about 1-2 inches wide on my upper thigh. It runs from the center to the inside of my leg, across not up & down. It is warm to the touch. I do not recall any injury to the area. It's after 8 pm and my doctor is not available.

1-no to food question; yes to falling asleep on couch
2-no
3-maybe-have had 2 minor blood clots. One in my elbow area (went from baby aspirin to full strength) several years ago and one in my hand after an iv (stopped aspirin and took ibuprofin). Doctor said they were 'superficial' types (or something like that)
4-no
5-yes, slightly swollen. Red with a firm 'core' line
6-yes: atenalol (for pvc's), fuersomide (for water retention), and a regular aspirin.

I was just at the doctor's office the day before due to 'palpitations' and had an EKG that was ok. Temperature and pulse (78) were normal. BP was 118/82.

Detailed Answer:
hello

thank you for getting back with the answers. Firt of all please accept my apology for delay in response. I actally was on duty due to which reason i was not having access to internet. i have gone through the answers. Most common cause for such presentation inculdes allergic reaction which can be due to a number of causes, most commonly includes insect bite. Second possibility is localized collection. As you mentioned that there is n history of itch so i would suggest you to wait for 24 hrs. If it persists then you once need to visit hospital and get ultrasound of that area done to rule out the possibility of any collection. Meanwhile if you feel pain at that site then you can take acetatminophen. Secondly, incase of itching you can take cetirizine one at night.

Hope i have answered your query. Feel free to get back for if there us any followup query.
Wishing you a very good health.
