Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Mal Alignment Of Back

default
Posted on Sat, 22 Nov 2014
Question: I have just started pt for my back. My pt doctor has had to realign my lower back at both of my last appointments. I have a lot of lumbar pain. Before he puts me back in place I am always high on my right hip. My L4or5 is twisted and my right leg is longer than the left. I really don't want to keep having to be 're aligned every time I go in to see him. I always pop out within hours of the visit. What if any surgery would help this condition? Fyi....no mri has been done yet only thoracic x-ray where they found degeneration.

Brief Answer:
Get an MRI done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The cause of recurrent mal alignment needs to be detected in your case. This can be detected after an MRI scan of the lumbosacral spine. The treatment will then depend on the problem detected.
You will also need regular back strengthening exercises to regain the back muscle tone so that the vertebral column can remain properly aligned. For acute pain relief you can get some muscle relaxants prescribed from your orthopedician. Doing a hot fomentation in the area will also help.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
