Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Cough And Cold
Question: I am suffering from cough and cold since last 1 week. The sneezing has relented but the dry cough hasn't.
I used biocof syrup but it is to no avail.
During coughing, i feel pain upto my abdomen. It feels like i am unable to absorb as much oxygen as i do normally. Situation is similar like if i run around 4-5 km.
Please suggest what can be done.

Hi,
Cough is generally the last symptom to settle during an acute spell of cough and cold (flu). It takes few weeks before settling down. At this point of time, I would like to know a few important details.
1. Is it dry or productive cough? If its productive cough, can you described the colour, consistency of sputum and if it's foul smelling.
2. Do you have chest pain or breathing difficulties?
3. Are you running fever?
Answers to aforementioned question will help me understand your current status.
Until then I will start you on zerodol p twice a day, nexpro 20mg before food twice a day and tab levocet one tablet at night. You may continue the cough syrup.

I have breathing problems at times which is similar to when i climb around 15 floors of stairs or run at full pace for 10 min. It feels like I cant absorb oxygen.
I had fever on Monday but used 3 dosage of combiflam and zenflox 200. I also used vicks vapo rub and inhaler for sneezing. Fever is now resolved and sneeze also to some extent.
Just need something to relieve me from cough.
Whenevr i cough, it feels pain upto the abdomen.

As I mentioned earlier cough is the last symptom to resolve. It might last for a week more. If the cough is troubling you, I would start you on syp Ascoril LS instead of bicof syrup. Discuss with your treating doctor to prescribe it.
