Brief Answer:
Mucus or salivary gland

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you have been having pain from a small raised area on your upper palate. The image you provided shows a small reddened area in you hard palate. This could be a small salivary gland that is irritated. Our mouth is filled with mucus glands that help maintain moisture and saliva to the mouth. Sometimes they can get blocked and swell up. This is normal and not anything to be concerned about. The swelling will resolve in a few days. Eating sour foods will help increase salivation and may help unblock the gland. I also recommend drinking plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.

nothing else

Detailed Answer:
There is nothing else you can do. Nature will have to heal itself naturally

If the area bothers you a lot you can use ambusol or other mouth numbing topical medication to reduce the pain
