Suggest Treatment For Psoriatic Arthritis

default
Posted on Thu, 27 Oct 2016
Question: I am 56 years old. Diagnosed years ago with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Lately I can not function. I have to continually lean forward and my entire spine pops. It is physically draining.

This is upper and lower spine, mainly upper. XRays show nothing (?) I refuse pain meds. But take way too much anti-inflamitory. I am on disability because of my spine and severity of crohns. But this is new and I can not sit or stand for more than 45 minutes at a time.

I am changing Dr's....my internist. I see my arth dr on Tuesday, and my internist on Weds, and then my gastro on Nov 11

Well, if you are having that many symptoms I doubt that cimzia is working. Secondly taking daily ibuprofen in crohns disease will do more harm than good. It can lead to bleeding in the intestine.

Considerimg active stiffness in your spine, probably affected by psoriasis the disease still. looks active. My. opinion would be to switch to infliximab or Adalimumab. They are good for both crohns and psoriasis. I don't think there are much results of efficacy of cimzia in crohns disease. The other 2 work better and have been around for a ling time. Also you should consider starting sulphasalazine. And make exercises as your daily routine.

I have provided some information, but not sure if it already has been tried and tested. so do clarify me here and let me know your further doubts
