Suggest Treatment For Prolonged Periods And Discomfort In The Pelvic Area

default
Posted on Fri, 9 Dec 2016
Question: For a little less than a week now, I've had some discomfort in my pelvic area (area of bladder/prostate). It is kind of a tingling feeling that seems to get worse when sitting for prolonged periods (such as driving a car), and there is pressure - feels like I have to urinate. No strange coloring or odors with urine. This has been accompanied with the inability to get/keep an erection.

Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to Prostatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that discomfort in pelvic area with erectile problems could be mostly due to Prostatitis .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have painful ejaculation ?
2) Do you have pain in perineal area or around anal region ?

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic
tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
4) Semen examination and semen culture .

In the mean while you can start taking Doxicycline with anti inflammatory medication like Diclofenac twice daily .

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thank you for your response. To answer your questions:

1). Do you have painful ejaculation? I did not, but have not been able to get an erection for 2 days now so c

2). Do you have pain in the perineal area or around anal region? No, I don't have constant pain, but 2-3 days ago the discomfort reached a peak which did include tingling/burning sensation in perineal area and rectum.

What are causes of prostatitis? Is a perscription required for Dioxicycline?
