Question: I suddenly had profuse sweating, facial flushing, shakiness and weakness this evening. BP148/88 P67 . My Blood sugar 110 at least 2 hours after eating. My fasting morning readings are between 98 and 108.Frequent urination and quite hungry. I am 5'2" 125 lbs. Family history of diabetes. I have written to you before. I have had cancer and developed radiation enteritis. I had urgent surgery to remove 3 obstructions in my small intestine due to the radiation damage.(November, 2015) I normally have low blood pressure but recently my blood pressure can be quite elevated i.e. 180/110. Recently I have had periods of extreme weakness and extreme shakiness and as a result have had to have help walking. These symptoms come and go. When I was in the ER my potassium was 3, tachy with an elevated BP. I was on an IV but was not given any KCL nor was I given anything to bring my BP down.My blood sugar in the ER was 130 about 3 hours after dinner. I had to be helped into the ER as I was so weak and shaky. I keep getting told I have anxiety. I am already on Citolapram 20 mg daily. and have been on anti depressants for years.
I don't have any reason to have anxiety. I suppose it's possible, but I really feel this is a physical problem. I will be seeing my GI doc next week. He thinks I may have an absorption problem in my small intestine due to radiation damage or that I may have a problem at the anastomosis site. I have started taking supplements of potassium and magnesium. (I get a lot of muscle spasms and have for years) I am also taking B12 . I take Vitamin D as I am low on that. I take refrigerated probiotics daily. Also, my head doesn't feel right even though I've had an MRI and CT of my head without any problems noted. I guess my question is what do you think is causing my symptoms?. I am an RN and I am having difficulty getting any help from EMTs, doctors etc., except for my GI doctor and my cancer specialists. What are your thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Hormone deprivation.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking once again on HealthcareMagic.

Even though you are not anxious, your body has enough reasons to be stressed about and that is possibly messing with your BP and blood sugar levels. It is good to know that you are taking supplements as well as probiotics but the present symptoms seem to be due to hormone deprivation which is common at your age. You possibly need hormone replacement therapy. You need to visit a gynecologist who could plan the right regimen for you.

Brief Answer:
Slighly elevated.

Detailed Answer:
The blood sugar is slightly on the higher side. You need to get your blood tested for HbA1c level. If that is raised, you need to be on medication.
