Question: I have pouches in my intestines that were discovered 2 years ago after suffering a acute attack of infection in them - a CT scan showed it- twice now in the last 2 weeks I've had bright red blood on the toilet paper n in the water after a bowel movement - I have been eating nuts regularly as of late and wonder if a pouch is infected again n would be a reason for the blood?

Brief Answer:
The pouches could be responsible for the blood in stool.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through the details provided and understand your concerns. The intestines have multiple sections and I would need to know where exactly these pouches are. The small intestine could have been dilated to form the pouches or there could be diverticulosis of the large intestine. In any case these could indeed be responsible for the blood in stool. It does not necessarily indicate an infection. I understand that you are taking nuts on regular basis but you also need to take plenty of green leafy vegetables and other fibre rich items for diet. Also take yogurt or curd on regular basis.
Let me know if you have anything specific to ask and I would be glad to help.
Regards
