Suggest Treatment For Petechiae On The Body

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2015
Question: Been having what looks like petechiae on my body for the past 2-3 weeks, it seems to occur after i scratch my skin (even after very mild scratching) or when pressure if put on the skin (even very mild pressure) but had a normal CBC (also tested liver and kidney function) a week ago. Also have mild muscle/join/point soreness. Before that I was having unexplained Neurological symptoms (numbness, tingling, twitching throughout my body), saw a Neurologist and had a clean MRI of the Brain and EMG. Wondering what the cause of the Petechiae could be with normal blood work

Brief Answer:
Likely to be autoerythrocyte sensitiszation purpura

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for your query.
This is a condition called autoerythrocyte sensitization purpura (Gardner-Diamond syndrome). The exact cause is unclear but may have some relationship to emotional disorders.
Relax, eat healthy wholesome food, exercise at least 30 minutes a day and practice stress relieving measures like yoga, meditation or relaxation techniques and you are likely to have less of these.

Thanks for your response. Do you think there is any reason to do any follow up blood tests if the CBC I had around a week-10 days ago was normal? I got freaked out when I searched on google cause their were links to Leukemia/Myeloma/Lymphoma/etc. My spots tend to fade a few days (3-4) after appearing.

Brief Answer:
No

Detailed Answer:
If you had purpurae when the blood count was done and it was normal, there is no need to repeat. To put you at ease you can google the most likely diagnosis I had suggested.
Wish you good health.
