Suggest Treatment For Persistent Sore Throat

default
Posted on Fri, 24 Oct 2014
Question: I have had a sore throat for more than 3 months (it all started with a bleeding tonsil. Was on antibiotic twice, had blood tests done (mono was ruled out), went to dentist for oral hygiene etc. While throat looks better, it is still sore, the feeling of a lump in the back of the throat persists, a lot of mucus with sometimes traces of blood in it. Tonsils are still red but less swollen. I am on waiting list to see an ENT (which could be a year) and I cant really afford to go private. I am 30, an ex smoker. Do I need to be worried?
