Question: For almost a month, I have been breaking out in welts that itch terribly. It's not constant but several times a day I just start itching. I haven't changed soap, detergent, or any medication but now I have to take benedryl several times a day to control the itching. Could this be a symptom of something else?

Brief Answer:
Add Ranitidine to your treatment!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed this information and this is suggestive of chronic urticaria. In addition to your ongoing benadryl, I will suggest that you add ranitidine to this for better control. Benadryl causes drowsiness and I would have rather suggested that you switch to Zyrtec or claritin which does the same job but without causing drowsiness.

In all, this is chronic urticaria. Treatment with Zyrtec (or Benadryl which you're already taking) and Ranitidine is recommended.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Keep me updated on your progress.

Kind regards.
