Question: Hi, my 1 year old has diarrhoea from past 4 days and doctor prescribed Zinc Dry Powder for suspension - Is it okay or does it have any side affects on my littile one?

Thank you for the quick response. You said it is harmful, could you give me little more details about the side affects. Also, what would be the prescribed dose for 1 year old boy.
Could you help us with the diet we need to follow for him. We are not breast feeding him from 5th month for numerous reasons and giving formula milk. We are feeding him cow milk from past one month as prescribed by our local doctor.

Possibly you got it wrong. I said that if given in the right dose it is NOT harmful and you NEED NOT worry about side effects.
Normally during diarrhea we advise to avoid milk and fruit juices. A rice based diet is preferred. Other than that everything remains the same.
