Question: I have Been suffering with UTI since past two months ! Initially I had taken augmentin 625 for 4 days and then another antibiotic for 3 days and then stopped ! Initially symptoms subsided a bit and then I continued drinking a lot of water for few days ! Symptoms were never gone ! After few days symptoms were back as earlier and then I started taking neeri tab for 4 days and it showed very good results but in order to eliminate bacteria completely I have been taking niftran since past 5days ! Today is 6th day ! And I don't feel infection has gone ! The only symptoms are frequent urge to urinate ! No pain nothing ! There may be no pain because I am drinking lots of water but still I am urinating a lot and that without any pain ! Any solution ?

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have recurrent episodes oh UTI since two months.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making precise comments on your problem.
1) What is your gender ?
2) What is your age ?
3) Have you done urine culture during last two months and if yes what is the report as regards organisms and their sensitivity pattern.? Recurence of infection is mostly due to organisms may not be highly sensitive to antibiotics that you have taken
`
Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin and urinary antispasmodics like Flavoxate twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

I m male and 23 years old !
Urine culture has been done and according to the sensitivity one of the doctor has prescribed me nitrofurantoin drug and that's the reason I am taking niftran tablet since past 6 days ! I have lost the report ! I am masturbating daily ! Is that stopping me from total recovery because since past 20 days I have stopped tea coffee and all other caffienated drinks and drinking a lot of water ! I could see symptoms getting better and then suddenly I start urinating more ! If I could hold up and drink less water I can wait till 2 or 3 hours but if I drink water once I will be getting the urge to urinate for every 15mins ! It's been quite frustrating because I m unable to go anywhere outside ! Please tell me the exact measures needed to be taken !
I don't have any pain ! No burning sensation ! May be I will get them if I stop taking water and drink tea and all because that had happened 3 weeks back ! It's just UTI and I want to get rid of it completely ! Before this I suffered with UTI even in march once ! And that automatically went away without any tablet ! But this time I had taken a lot of care and it isn't leaving me since two months ! Is masturbation the only reason?

Hello
Thanks for follow up.

Your symptoms are definitely due to UTI .
Please repeat your urine culture as the organisms change their sensitivity pattern frequently .

Take treatment I have suggested earlier and and switch on to appropriate antibiotic as per culture report ..It take 2-3 weeks for resolving the issue after taking appropriate antibiotic continuously for 2-3 weeks

Ensure to drink more water .

Thanks and Regards.
