Question: Hi, went to emergency with flu like symptoms and extremely dehydrated. I second time there they did a CT scan and found inflamm colitis. They gave me antibotics and it helped some. Nothing showed on stool testing. still have horrible gas, acid, pain in stomach every morning and after eating. Doc gave me Pantprazole 40mg. Made me extremely sick. stopped taken it. Is there anything to do for the pain, and gas this is going on 2 months, hard to keep working. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms are suggestive for possible :
- intestinal dysbacteriosis
- gi candida
- gastritis or gastric ulcer

I advise to :
- run upper endoscopy and stool culture to rule out the above mentioned diagnosis
- if cannot tolerate the ppis can start ranitidine and antacids
- or can change therapy from pantoprazole to esomeprazole or omeprazole

Hope it was of help!
