Question: I have had problems with anxiety for many years and recently i have had a very scary episode that has resulted in me skipping one day of eating due to a fear of choking. I have sense been eating small amounts of easy to swallow food items to give me some relief from the anxiety. I have had diarrehea along with my anxiety for days as well. I havent felt any pain, but i am so scared that i messed my body up from my panic attack. Can you help give me some advice? or solutions i may need to take to control my fear?

Brief Answer:
Try some relaxation exercise

Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.

I think, you had panic attack and in that case, you should not be worried. Panic attack happens due to some unconscious fear or conflict. If you remain apprehensive, then you could get more attacks. So, just relax. You can try some relaxation exercise like deep breathing exercise/ JPMR or can take any anxiolytic like clonazepam. That would help you to stay relax.

In case, you need further advise, you can ask.

Brief Answer:
It would not harm on your body

Detailed Answer:
Hi

No, you wouldn't get any negative effect. Body has protective energy source in form of fat. If you miss one day meal, then body would use body's extra fat. In that way, systems remain in function. A person could survive for more than a week without meal, rest depends upon his physical condition. In your case, missing meal for one day wouldn't give you any harm. So. just relax. What ever energy or calories you have lost in one day, body would recover in few days.

In case, you have more query, you can ask.
