Suggest Treatment For Painful Wrist After An Injury

Question: Hi, I fell a year ago at a dance competition, I went to a&e that night with left wrist and left foot pain. I was sent home with what they said were sprains and soft tissue damage but when I returned 5 weeks later in as much pain if not more they realized my foot was actually broken and my wrist had a suspect scaphoid fracture. I attended the ortho clinic for x-rays and physio and my foot was 100% better but different doctors had different opinions about my wrist, some felt there was no fracture but tendon or ligament damage and others would not validate the pain I was in. I had an MRI done but they said it was a low quality MRI, they said though that there was nothing gross that they could see, My foot is now perfect I am now suffering with severe pain flare ups in my wrist every couple of weeks, they last for about 4-10 days and they prevent any movement or flexibility in my wrist, I can only describe the pain as a burning pressure pain in the centre of my wrist My sore wrist is noticably thinner than the other. I currently wear a splint during flare ups which stops my wrist moving causing sharp pain but the constant burning is always there. Pain killers do not work and I get some relief oddly enough from squeezing the wrist. Please help !
I currently go to college, I'm right handed and I work in retail in a clothes shop part time for about 15 hours a week. The latest flare up occurred after a weeks holidays from college and work.

Brief Answer:
Gete x-ray done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your query.

I advise you to get your x-ray of wrist done in all four views to see present condition of scaphoid and other short bones conditions because it is seen that some hair line fractures of short bones becomes evident after 10-12 days of injury. Then send me the report.

Till then continue to apply wrist brace, apply hot packs for 30 min in morning and evening.

Try to avoid weight lifting with that wrist.

Take painkiller i.e tab. aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase combination three times a day, tablet lornoxicam 8 mg two times a day, take calcium tablets 1000 gm daily.

I hope it helps.
