Suggest Treatment For Painful Urination With Abdominal Pain

Question: my 15 yr old son who is flying back from the east coast now said he was peeing yesterday and it would not go finally it did and he was in incredibly painful and afterwards his right side was burning and hurting should i take him to a doctor i don't have insurance or to a urologist?

Hello,
This can be a problem with the kidney so he needs to see a doctor right away. If you cannot get him in to see his pediatrician immediately he will need to go to an urgent care or emergency.
He does not necessarily need to see a urologist.
An internist or emergency doctor should be able to figure out what is going on and get him treatment.
If they feel it is serious they will make a referral to a urologist
